The Configuration, Process, or Architecture Behind the Issue
The issue wasn't with Mixpanel itself, but with the tracking architecture that had been chosen.
All tracking ran through server-side events only, one of three possible ways to measure user behavior (server, client, or proxy), which created major deviations due to browser blocking.
Duplicate events and implementation bugs widened the gap between reported and actual behavior even further.
